Dave was supposed to get a Nintendo Wii for Christmas. His family could not find one, so they gave him a Best Buy gift certificate to cover the cost of the system. My brother's friend John Owen was also supposed to get a Wii for Christmas, but instead his parents just got him the Wii version of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Dave also bought this game cuz he was pretty sure he was gonna get a Wii. So basically these two fooz both had Zelda for the Wii, but no Wii. And they would not get a Wii for weeks to come. John found out about a new shipment of Wii's that would go on sale January 21st 2007. So he and Dave got up early and went to some stores to wait in line. Dave went to Best Buy, and John was originally going to Best Buy but ended up going to Circuit City instead. The Best Buy Dave went to had 45 Wii's on sale! So after waking up early and waiting in line a couple of hours, they both got their hands on a Wii. Chris had to buy John's Wii for him, because John needed to leave the line to go to his job. After Dave got his Wii, he came over to our house and we played it all day. Wasn't very exciting though, there just isn't anything worth playing on the Wii. I already finished Zelda on the GameCube, which is the version I felt was superior (doesn't have to run by emulation, superior controls, a non-mirrored world and the true left-handed Link). Wii Sports can only hold your interest for so long. Excite Truck looked like it might be fun for a while, but as soon as I got my hands on it I greatly detested the crappy controls. DragonBall Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 has some of the worst controls I've ever seen. How do they expect anyone to play a fighting game like this?! John came by that night to pick up his Wii, and I snapped a quick shot of him looking happy that he finally got one so he could play Zelda. Now Dave and John both have an Xbox 360 and a Wii, which are the only two systems worth owning right now. Well, the Wii will be worth owning once Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out. Chris and I really want to play Metroid Prime 3, having played through the first two games, but we're not too happy about the control scheme. Though we realize we'll get it anyways to finish the trilogy. Mario Galaxy looks like an abomination of the Mario franchise (damnit where's my real Mario game sequel to Mario 64?!), and I don't really see anything else worth playong on the Wii. Much to my surprise, the X360 is the best system out there in my opinion, and will continue to be the best. But who cares about consoles? I'm PC all the way!
